A standout feature of this beautifully crafted natural play space is the interactive slackline. Cleverly designed as the outstretched tongues of two iconic local amphibians—the Alberta Toad and Northern Leopard Frog.
DYK that the Northern Leopard Frog, once widespread across Alberta, is now a threatened species? This playful design not only encourages adventure but also introduces children to Calgary’s rich biodiversity, sparking curiosity about wetland conservation and the vital role these species play in our ecosystem.
By merging education and play, the Rockland Park playground invites families to connect with nature in a fun and meaningful way.
