Rockland Park Natural Playground

Calgary, Alberta
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Rockland Park Natural Playground is a vibrant community hub, offering nature-inspired play experience that blends naturalized elements, kinetic play opportunities, and custom built features. Designed to activate outdoor space and enhance quality of life, this thoughtfully crafted playground provides unique and accessible play opportunities for all.
A standout feature is the interactive slackline, cleverly designed as the outstretched tongues of two iconic local amphibians—the Alberta Toad and Northern Leopard Frog. This playful design not only encourages adventure but also introduces children to Calgary’s rich biodiversity, sparking curiosity about wetland conservation and the vital role these species play in our ecosystem. By merging education and play, the Rockland Park playground invites families to connect with nature in a fun and meaningful way.
