ABOUT THE PROJECT

The new Fort Saskatchewan Natural Playground provides an exciting woodland trail and nature-based playground. The project reflects the many aspects of the surrounding site’s history and vibrant community. The project celebrates Fort Saskatchewan’s heritage through various aspects of its design, including the Heritage Precinct Loops wooden post style, with a natural twist, used to mark the woodland trail entry features.

Rockyview Play where selected for the concept, detail design and build for the playground and created an integrated woodland trail complimenting the existing natural area. Swings, climbers, log tunnel, musical drums and custom designed benches that featured sheep were designed and built for the project. Project had to follow historical site guidelines and meet full Canadian safety playground standards.
